Warming Up: Spiked Apple Cider

At the recent Green Corn Project Event, held at the lovely Boggy Creek Farm, I ran across something that I just had to share with you. One, because it was so good and two because I thought “why didn’t I think of that?” … genius idea. When I think of warm autumn or winter libations, things such as spiked coffees, mulled wines and hot toddies come to mind but after trying this I am now adding a new drink to my hot list. It comes by way of San Luis Spirits or more specifically from one of my favorite vodka distilleries, Dripping Springs. Dripping Springs Spiked Apple Cider –– a simple to make concoction –– will be a great addition to any of your upcoming holiday festivities and it’s easy to put together (hooray for that!). At the event, it was simply apple cider with an ounce or two of vodka depending upon how strong you like it. I recommend adding a few more spices for a bit more flavor ~ here’s my easy-to-make-ahead-of-time crockpot version of Spike Apple Cider.
