Grilled Cabbage Salad with Blue Cheese + Honey

Grilled Cabbage Salad with Blue Cheese + Honey

I have a case of spring fever. Spring is such a wonderful time of year in Texas and it’s only a few weeks away. We tend to get some much needed rainfall, the sun starts to stay out a bit longer, days and nights begin to warm up (it’s the perfect temperature really), flowers and trees start to pop with more color as does the local produce.

I begin to crave more salads and we start to get serious about grill’n season. Over the weekend, we picked up these adorable baseball-sized cabbage from Johnson’s Backyard Garden, tossed them with a bit of olive oil then sprinkled with salt and fired-up the grill. Finish off the Grilled Cabbage Salad with Blue Cheese + Honey and you’ve got a super easy salad loaded with flavor. What a great way to enjoy the end of cabbage season and the beginning of spring — hooray. AND … just perhaps … by using a local honey you can keep away a few of those allergy sneeze attacks — achoo! Bring on spring.
