Cheers to the Austin FOOD & WINE Festival

The Austin FOOD & WINE Festival is Here! Are you ready? April 25-27 at Butler Park & Republic Square Park

Here are a few MUSTS for the BIG weekend:

1. Log In! AustinFoodWine.com  This year, the Official Austin FOOD & WINE Festival website is 100% mobile-friendly! That means you can access the 2014 Schedule, Map, Bios, Nightly Event Info, Emergency Updates, FAQs and more direct from your smartphone.  Browse the lineup and talent, learn more about your food-world favorites (or discover new ones!) AND create your own customized schedule (Can I get a “woot” for plan-ers?!)

2. Wear Comfortable Shoes ~ sure those heels look great but we don’t need to aerate the grass at the park.

3. Bring Sunscreen & a Hat ~ (I sound like a mom, jeez!) you know the spring weather here can change by the hour and if that sun does make a strong appearance well … you know how that goes … and your forehead will thank you.

4. Drink Your Water ~ stay hydrated people, I have seen “those” people get carried out, don’t be one of them.

5. Know Where to Park ~ Savor Pass holders have a dedicate on-site parking at The Long Center otherwise check here for parking: 301 Congress ($7); 300 San Antonio ($7); One Texas Center Garage at Barton Springs Rd. & S. 1st St. ($7); Austin Convention Center Parking Garage at 2nd & Brazos ($8); Austin City Hall at Cesar Chavez & Guadalupe (Free until 5pm; $5)

6. Bring Your Id & Leave the Kiddos at Home (with a responsible person of course!) ~ I know Austin is a kid and family friendly city but this event is 21+;  besides even if you could sneak them in, you wouldn’t want to have kids pulling on your leg as you sip and nibble through the event ~ enjoy your adult time.

7. Grab a Map ~ you can answer the old “where are we going?” question easily and if your Internet or phone decides not to work, you’ll be covered (it happens!) ~ the main event is at Butler Park with a few VIP gatherings, demos and tastings over at Republic Square Park.

8. Be Social ~ check out my updates on FaceBook or Twitter, follow #AFWFest and if you see me in the park be sure to say hello!

9. Be Ready to Dance & Laugh ~ you can’t do anything in this town without live music and these chefs love to entertain.

10. Be Prepared to Eat, Drink, Mingle and Have a Good Time ~ Cheers!
